We provide a DMP (A Deer Management Plan)

Here at Countryside Deer Management we aim to provide a practical and effective framework where deer managers can first acknowledge and then attempt to balance the differing uses demanded from an area of land.

Gather Intelligence

We attend the land and carry out a full risk assessment and determine what species of deer you have, age, sex and most importantly the condition of the animals and what damage they are causing.

On occasions they are not causing damage at all but their large numbers can be of a concern.

Population

Unfortunately, UK deer are up the top of our food chain, they don’t have any predators unlike other areas of the world. 

This being said it’s our responsibility as humans for the welfare of the animal by controlling the numbers and ensuring a healthy sustainable deer population.

Processing

Once a DMP has been determined we would then ‘cull’ the necessary animals inspect and distribute the carcass into the human food chain.

Whilst we do not cull deer for the purpose of venison production, we do provide the UK venison industry with a regular supply of quality deer carcasses to support the marketing of healthy venison products to the consumer.
